Derrel Ho-Shing Photography's Best of 2016

With 2016 wrapping up, I thought I’d go back and reflect on the past year. It was a fun and eventful year, shooting destination weddings in Jamaica and Cuba, but the biggest moment of the year was the birth of my son Omari back in June. I'll never forget that moment I first held him in my arms. Truly the highlight of the year. But wedding-wise, I was fortunate enough to work with some amazing couples, and some of the best vendors which helped make my photos as epic as they are. I hope your 2016 was good as mine, but I hope 2017 is even better.  Here are my top moments and highlights from 2016. Let me know which photo was your favourite.

Enjoy

Niagara Falls Ontario, Engagement Shoot | Francesca & Jason

When I met Jason and Francesca for our consultation, it ended up being 4 hours long because we had so much in common and we hit it off so well. They're both filmmakers, working on a documentary on African American music and much more. Jason is from Rochester New York, and Francesca is from Toronto Ontario, but their love has no borders. So it was only right that we shot on The Rainbow Bridge along the Canada/US border in Niagara Falls Ontario (because the Canadian side is better lol). We had an amazing time shooting and got some real awesome photos, even if I say so myself. Take a look for yourself and be sure to leave some comments below.

Thanks guys.

Yorkville, Toronto Ontario Engagement Session | Doug & Karen

High end clothing stores and boutiques, expensive restaurants, plush hotels, and random celebrities just hanging out. It's no wonder why Doug and Karen chose Yorkville as their backdrop for their engagement photos. You literally can't go wrong in this location. The weather was not too hot, just right, the lighting was awesome, and the couple looked AMAZING. From the patches on Doug's shirt to Karen's purple flowing dress, it was a recipe for success. I can only imagine what they'll look like on their big day. Take a look at the magic we created, and leave some feedback and comments.

Cheers
